Beethoven's Unfinished 10th Symphony Brought to Life by Artificial Intelligence

By teaching AI to think like Beethoven and he's process, a team and AI work together and finally successfully released the symphony over the weekend. A team try to finish Beethoven's unfinished 10th symphony by working with AI. Although it sounds amazing, there are lots of difficulties they have to conquer.   One of the difficulties is that although AI can learn quickly and create things fast, they still can't replace  people. The team still have to support and pick out the most likely one by themselves, and it took them a lot of time to complete the symphony. However, some people feel that using AI will make people stop thinking by themselves, and some think AI is only a tool to assist us, humans are still the one who control the result.  It is a good issue we could discuss together.

Math and Sleuthing Help to Explain Epidemics of the Past

One mathematician has spend decades uncovering the deadly calculations of pestilence and plague, sometimes finding data that were hiding in plain sight. First: Collect Historic document Second:  plot out the number of cases, over time, for an individual epidemic, and we will see an exponential rise. Third: By the above data, we can get the rate of transmission and  the ways pandemics can spread. In this way, we can  estimate growth rates and doubling times for COVID-19.

A Car crash Snaps the Daydreaming Mind into Focus.

One  researcher's poorly timed attention lapse flipped a car.   And this article introduced us why.   Question: Why we lose our concentration after doing a thing for a long time?   Experiment: Let participant do the same thing repeatedly and the researchers  monitored participants' brain waves by EEG to observe their neural rhythms.   Finding:   The brain is  blanketed by slow waves of synchronized neural activity.   As a result, we would be influenced by this slow waves so that we lose our concentration.

Why Frozen Turkeys Explode When Deep-Fried??

Turkey * Deep-Fried = EXPLODE ! While ice in a turkey contact high temperature oil, the ice turn into water vapor at high speed. The huge different of density between ice and vapor will lead to produce a lot of pressure. And then, the turkey explode. ↓ Before you're going to cook something, make sure you are doing the right way, or you may probably get into trouble!

Artificial Intelligence Sniffs Out Unsafe Foods

Researchers can use AI and algorithms to scan people’s reviews on Amazon, and it help the FDA find out and recall those products faster. THE FDA can use algorithms to protect consumer. AI can make our life healthier.       AI is good. VERY GOOD.

MOFs - Commercialization and future

1.Previous & Current method Previous method store gas under high pressure, but it consume lots of energy and dangerous.  Current method store gas under low pressure, and it consume less energy and safe.   2. Goal      The goal is to reduce the energy consumption while we store gas, and we can look for new material to achieve this goal.   3. Future - Electronic industry And MORE        MOFs has already been applied in electronic industry now, and it is ready to be used in other industries in the future.

How to make a good presentation

Avoid follow problems while designing slides 1.spell problem 2.coloful background 3.too much bullet-point  4.don't write all what your talk 5. too much animation and graphs Some people may make mistakes in speech 1.no eye contact with their audiences  2.look their paper all time 3.content too boring 4.no smile 5.voice too low 6.phone is not take off HOW CAN YOU ADJUST ???                        1.Don't look at paper when you speaking, eye contact with your audiences                        2.You can talk a interesting story first when you start your speech                        3.speak loudly, and redirect audience's attention(video clip, question)                        4.speak more context per person         ...
Your Brain Does Something Amazing between Bouts of Intense Learning     So a sequence that might take one second for fingers to type,  would take just 50 milliseconds for the brain to replay.  That’s an impressive 20-fold compression...     Scientist use MEG, an imaging technique, which can observe neural to find out that brain kept replaying the practice 20 time faster.      Give yourself a break, makes your brain learning better.     Shxt man, I don't know my brain is so powerful, thanks scientists. Technology: Self-driving Waymo cars

MAIN IDEA Waymo company text their self-driving car on the road. especial, the road  where rule are very dynamic, it reflect that self-driving isn't yet developed fully. OPINION OF THE ARTICLE Self-driving is a new technology, but engineer still adjusts its function.  Self-driving is very cool, but it still has a lots of rooms to improve it.
